Change a document's maximum link depth

To change a document's maximum link depth, follow these steps:

1. Go to the document's properties. See Modify a document's properties for how to do this.
2. Click the Links tab.
3. Enter your new setting for Maximum link depth. You can either type the value or use the buttons to increase or decrease the existing value.
4. Click OK to accept the new setting.

When iSiloX converts a document whose source content has links, also known as hyperlinks, to content in other files or URLs, iSiloX uses the maximum link depth setting to determine whether or not to follow individual links to bring in linked content. By default, the maximum link depth is set to one, meaning that the content of the source files or URLs you specified for the document and content to which they directly link are brought in to create the document. Linked content at a greater depth is not included in the document.

If you only want the content of the source files or URLs you specified and do not want any linked content, then you would set the maximum link depth to zero. If you want content that is more deeply linked, then you can increase the maximum link depth. In this latter case, you must be careful because each additional depth you specify can cause an exponential increase in the size of the resulting document.
