Document Properties: Source
The Source properties page lists the root source files.
When iSiloX converts a document, it adds each root source
file as a new page of the document in the order listed.
Then linked files are pulled in to create additional pages.
The Source column lists the full paths and URLs of the
root files and the Page column lists their corresponding
page numbers in the resulting document. If one or more of the
listed files is an HTML file containing frames, the Page column
is inaccurate because each frame becomes an individual page
in the resulting document and iSiloX can not determine that
a file contains frames until it begins converting the file.
Adding Source URLs
iSiloX supports retrieval of source content from the Web
using HTTP URLs.
Dragging a URL
Internet Explorer: From Internet Explorer, if the Address bar
shows the URL of a source you want to add, to the left of the
URL is an icon that looks like this:
.
You can add the URL to the Source list by dragging the icon
and dropping it in the Source list.
Netscape: From the Netscape browser, if the Location bar
shows the URL of a source you want to add, to the left of the
URL is an icon that looks like this
or
depending on the version you
are using. You can add the URL to the Source list by dragging the icon
and dropping it in the Source list.
Typing a URL
You can type a URL directly by clicking the Add URL/File...
button and then typing the URL in the presented dialog. Make
sure that the URL starts with http://, otherwise iSiloX will
not know that it is an HTTP URL. Click OK to add the URL
to the Source list.
Adding Source File Paths
A file path specifies either a file located on your local hard
drive or a file located somewhere on the network.
Dragging a file
You can add a source file to the list by dragging the file
from Windows Explorer or the Windows desktop and dropping
it in the Source list. You can also select more than one file
at a time by dragging them all at once and dropping them
in the Source list. iSiloX adds the path names of the files
to the end of the list.
Typing a file path
You can type a file path directly by clicking the Add URL/File...
button and then typing the path to the file in the presented dialog.
In the dialog, you can also navigate to the file by clicking the
Browse... button. Click OK to add the file
to the Source list.
Editing Source Paths and URLs
To edit individual entries in the Source list, right-click the entry
to get the context menu, then click Edit.
Make your changes and click OK to accept or Cancel to cancel
any changes.
Removing Source Paths and URLs
To remove one or more of the source paths and URLs, select the
ones you want to remove, then click Remove Selected URLs/Files.
iSiloX presents a dialog to ask you to confirm that you want to remove
the paths and URLs you selected.
Changing the Order of the Sources
You can change the order of the sources by moving sources
individually. To move a source, drag it to its new location
in the list. When you drag the source, a horizontal bar appears
that shows where the source will be inserted.
Notes
Each source path and URL must be unique. If you attempt to add
a duplicate source path or URL, iSiloX ignores the duplicate and
does not add it to the list.
